EXCLUSIVE SALMON AND SEA TROUT FISHING

THE LANRICK WATER

Less that an hour from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth !

The Lanrick water is situated between Doune and Callander and extends for 3.5 miles of which 2 miles are single bank and 1.5miles are double bank fishing. There are 16 named pools amid a magnificent woodland and parkland setting.

FISHING SEASON
Scottish Salmon and Sea trout fishing in Scotland: 1st February until 31st October
The river enjoys a traditional spring run from the opening day followed by an exciting sea trout run between March and July accompanied by a less predictable grilse run. An excellent autumn run continues from late August until the end of the season in October . The Teith has a well deserved reputation for some large fish and every year fish over 20lbs and even some over 30lbs are landed.

FISHING HOURS
Normal fishing hours are from 9.00am until 5.30pm. Special arrangements for evening and night time fishing and all other queries may be made with the Estate Office. A 15ft fly rod is suitable for most of the year although smaller rods are appropriate in low water conditions. A house rod is retained throughout the season. A voluntary catch and release policy is operated and anglers are encouraged to return fish in order to aid the recovery of stocks.

AVAILABILITY OF RODS
Day and weekly tickets for up to six rods available throughout the season although as some bookings are made well in advance especially during the autumn you are advised to book early. The Lanrick water is divided into two beats, Upper and Lower Lanrick both of which may be booked separately through the Estate Office. Two rods are permitted on the Upper Beat and a maximum of four on the Lower Beat. The Lower Beat is exclusively fly only while spinning is permitted on the Upper Beat during very high water.

RATES FOR 2009
The rate per rod varies throughout the season starting at £ 40 plus VAT for a single rod per day. Please contact the Estate Office for further information regarding availability of fishing and associated rates. RODS AVAILABLE TROUUGHOUT THE YEAR

GHILLIE
A experienced resident ghillie may be booked to provide assistance and advice and it is suggested that all new guests use this service to increase their chances of success and help identify the pools in differing water conditions. Guests will also greatly benefit from an all terrain vehicle which makes travelling along the river much easier. The ghillie will also give casting lessons to beginners.
